Why Change Now?

Over the past few years my physical health has taken a backseat to other priorities in my life. Over this time, I have been slowly packing on the pounds. I have gotten to a point where I cannot do things that I used to do with ease.

In addition, as you may know, I’ve been traveling much more than I have in the past. This too has taken a toll on my physical health. Constantly sleeping in new places, the dietary changes that come from being in new places and the strain of sitting in a plane or car for long periods of time is causing me to examine my physical health in a new way.

Decision Time

It’s time to make my physical health a priority again so I can get continue enjoying the activities that I’m passionate about with the ease that I’m used to. It’s time to love myself and take care of my body the way that I want to. This was at the forefront of my mind when I was presented with a chance to receive and advance copy of Always Eat After 7 PM by Joel Marion.

The Always Eat After 7PM approach talks about many benefits that I want for myself.  More energy and improved sleep are the main ones. Joel talks about a research paper that was published Sports Medicine in 2014 that states “eating carbs  at night induces deeper sleep”. I say, “Yes please!” This is especially important to me when I’m on the road sleeping in new places every night.

Additionally, finding a plan that allows me to eat when I am hungry instead of at set times throughout the day and a plan that will adapt to the different regions of the world I happen to be in feels like the right route for me. Another quote from the book that resonates well with me is “Traditional diets require that you give up your favorite foods & that’s simply unrealistic”.

What's Next?

Over the next month I am going to be sharing my experience of this book and the dietary plan that it outlines with you. We’ve been traditionally taught to avoid carbs, have an early dinner, and never eat before bed. But the fact is, the latest scientific research shows us this earlier model is not the most ideal. I already feel good about learning more about this and living this new lifestyle.

The Always Eat After 7 PM plan consists of: The 14-day Acceleration Phase to kick-start the program and see rapid results, The Main Phase where you’ll learn exactly which foods to eat when in order to achieve your weight-loss goals, The Lifestyle Phase to keep the weight off for good. I’m excited to dive into this process and share my results with you.

Until Then

I’ll be back next week with an update on how things are going and what I’ve learned but until then, you can take a look at this video. It shares Joel’s top tips for success.

And although I received an advance copy, Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion is now available to purchase.
