It’s time for the next update on my journey with the “Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight” by Joel Marion book and program. Are you excited? You should be! It’s been 3 weeks and I feel like I’m reaping the benefits of the program.

Results so far

If you remember from my first post on the “Always Eat After 7PM” book that I wanted more energy and I want improved sleep. Over the last 4 days I’ve really started to notice a difference and it’s incredible. It took some time for my body to adjust to a few of the changes but now that I have I am sleeping much better. I am still waking during the night once or twice, but that is a huge improvement from where I was at. I also wake rested and the mid-day “I need a nap” feeling is not as strong as it was. I am excited and motivated to continue on this path and continue to see the results!

I found that the food lists and recipe ideas are great. It take the pressure of meal planning off my shoulders while I’m learning new healthy habits. I don’t mind cooking but it’s not my favorite thing to do. This book makes it simple and fun. I’m also learning a lot about the foods included in the food lists and recipes.

For example, “Specific higher-carbohydrate foods (including berries and cherries) support your fat-burning metabolism while you sleep, providing your body with a steady stream of fuel throughout the night. The trick is knowing how to combine them with other evening and pre-bedtime fat-burning foods to fuel your metabolism as you sleep.” This information is completely eye opening.

And the recipes.. YUM!

Remember last week when I talked about the fact that this plan is not about deprivation? I’m also loving that. Actually, let me share a direct quote from the book on that. “Fact is, most diets are extremely narrow with regard to food choices and variety, and many even limit entire macronutrients altogether over the course of the entire program (think low-carb and low-fat diets). Three months with no carbs? No thanks. Such practices not only are entirely unnecessary, but make for a miserable, unsustainable experience.”

All of these components together make this one of the easiest decisions I’ve ever made with regard to my health. And did I mention that I get to eat dessert? I love dessert. As much as I don’t want to say it, I have to be honest and say that this has always been a battle for me. Giving up the sweets when I’m trying to get healthy and I don’t have to. In fact, one of my favorite recipes in the book a fruit tart. Doesn’t it look scrumptious?
